the design process at a glance:
initial consultation & site assessment:
We meet and discuss your garden needs and desires, the characteristics of the site, environmental conditions, and the principles of good design. We recommend filling in the client survey prior to our meeting. The survey can be emailed or faxed to you on request via our contact page.
conceptual layout:
This is the first stage of the design; it is the early idea stage. It usually takes two weeks or more to complete, depending on many factors. At this point, the plan is very flexible and can be adjusted and fine tuned. It takes into consideration the traffic flow through the space, use and function, orientation and specific desired features to be included. At this point, we meet in the garden and make adjustments. This is a good stopping point for the DIY. There are enough ideas and details there to get you started.
final planting plan:
Once the conceptual drawing has been finalized, you are ready for the planting plan. The planting plan shows specific locations of plants, hardscaping elements such as decks, patios and fountains, and a complete plant materials listing, a maintenance schedule, and plan notes.
